× NOTICE! It is highly recommended to install Domena in the root directory of you domain - not a subdirectory. For example, Domena should be installed at, not If you do use a subdirectory, you cannot use permalinks (see permalinks for more info). If you must install Domena into a sub directory, it will work, but it is not optimal.

Installing Domena

To start the basic installation, navigate in the Wordpress Admin Menu to Appearance -> Themes. On the top of the theme page, click the Install Themes tab. Beneath that tab select the Upload link and browse until you find your wordpress theme .zip file. After it has uploaded, select the activation link and the installation process is complete.

You will then be prompted to install and activate a few plugins, it is highly recommended that you do so in order to ensure proper functionality of Domena out of the box. Simply follow the on screen prompts to complete the installation process.

Installation Errors: If you get an installation error when attempting to install the theme, be sure that you upload only the wordpress theme .zip file. For further installation help click here.

Multiple Domain Support, one of the most requested features, is now available. Setup one installation of Domena, and park all of your domains to one place.

One of the most requested features in Domena v1.0 was multiple domain support. This allows you to install one instance of Domena, and park multiple domains on the same installation. Furthermore, you can even customize the content for each domain if needed.

× Note: While each hosting provider and domain registar varies slightly, the general overall concept is relatively the same.
  • Step 1: Install a fresh copy of Domena on the server you'd like to park of all your domains on.
  • Step 2: Change the DNS Servers for your domains to match those of the hosting provider that you installed your fresh copy of Domena with.
  • Step 3: Point each of your domain's file path directory of that of the Wordpress Installation. Many of the common hosting management panels such as cPanel have a "Park Domain" function that allows you to do this very easily.
  • Step 4: The final step is to add each parked domain inside of Domena. In the Wordpress Admin, select Appearance -> Customize. This will bring you to the frontend theme customzier. In the left hand menu, select the Parked Domains function. Here you can add all of your domains that were previously parked on this wordpress installation. Domena takes care of changing the page title for each parked domain, and even adds the proper domain to the lead form when a user submits their information on the lead page.
  • Additional Customization Should you require additional customization, a dropdown menu in the Theme Customizer allows you to edit the content for each parked domain. Simply add a new page in the Wordpress Admin, and then use the Content Tab in the Theme Customizer to display which content you'd like to display for each domain.

Setting up your google analytics is a simple 3 step process. Follow the instructions below.

Domena 2.0 has Google Analytics support built in. Not only does this functionality automatically place the google tracking code to log visitor stats, it also then displays a graph of these statistics on the homepage. Follow the steps below to get setup.

  • Step 1: Add a new account (or web property) within your main Google Analytics account.
  • Step 2: Navigate in the Wordpress Admin Panel to Settings -> Google Analytics.
  • Step 3: Sign into your google analytics account through Domena.
  • Step 4: Navigate in the Wordpress Admin Panel to Appearance -> Customize.
  • Step 5: Select the domain from the dropdown menu for which you'd like to add analytics to.
  • Step 6: Select the Google Analytics tab from the top navigation menu and then select the analytics account you'd like to associate to the domain.

The free contact form 7 plugin is supported by Domena and can be used to power a contact/lead form.

× Quick Note The following information is based on the Contact Form 7 plugin that Domena prompts you to install upon activation. Domena's native built in support for Contact Form 7 is the quickest and easiest way to get a lead form up and running.

The one click setup function of Domena will automatically create and setup a lead form page. Should you require additional customization, however, lets take a look at some additional information.

To create or manage your contact/lead forms, navigate in the wordpress admin menu to Contact -> Contact Forms. The one click install function by default will setup the form titled "Lead Form". You will need to edit the "To:" field with your email address in order to receive any messages from the form.

If you elect not to use the one click install function the following sample code can be used in your contact form code

    <label>Name <span class="required">*</span></label>
    [text* your-name 35/]

    <label>Email <span class="required">*</span></label>
    [email* your-email 35/]

    [textarea your-message 45x]

[submit "Send"]
